According to statistics from the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), textile exports in the first quarter of Vietnam (2018) were US$8 billion, a 15.4% increase over the same period of the previous year (2017). Among them, exports to the United States amounted to US$3.15 billion, a growth of 13%, and continued to grow in three years.

VITAS stated that after Vietnam’s participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership for All-round Progress (CPTPP), it will stimulate domestic textile exports. If Chinese textiles affect US exports due to US trade barriers, textiles from other countries will benefit, including Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangladesh. Mexico and so on. VITAS estimates that the amount of Vietnam textiles sold in the United States will reach US$13.8 billion in 2018.
